Seat Belts for Counterbalances
A kind of machine which can carry loads that are about 30,000 lbs is a forklift. A forklift is also called a counterbalance. Despite being sturdy and large, these industrial machines still carry the potential risk of accident or crash. In order to be safe, be sure to have operators put on the right seat belt inside the forklift and make sure that up to standard safety features are also on board. People know that in the event of an accident, seat belts could save lives.
Three-Point Seat Belt
Three-point seat belts can extend over the lap and across the upper body. These belts provide an extra degree of safety by protecting your body. They are available in both bench-seat and buckle-seat types. The 3-point seat belts are offered in either non-retractable or retractable styles.
Retractable seat belts are usually used in most modern vehicles available. Although non-retractable types increase safety, retractable kinds provide more comfort. It is not possible for a non-retractable seat belt to extend accidentally.
Lap belts
Two-point lap belts are those that extend over the lower part of the body. Most lap belts are non-retractable and feature a push-button closure system. In order to secure the seat belt, simply press on the belt button and then the two sides would separate.
Circuit-closed seat belt
The kind of seat belt which forces a forklift operator to wear a seat belt is a circuit-closed seat belt. These seat belts have a micro-switch attached which enables an alarm to sound if an operator starts a vehicle and is unsecured by a seat belt. The circuit-closed seat belts are made in both retractable and non-retractable lap-band types.
