Potain Cranes Iowa

Potain Cranes Iowa

The company Potain was established in La Clayette, France in 1928. Since that time, the company has grown into a leading manufacturer of cranes. The company is responsible for more than 100,000 cranes in operation all-around the globe. At present, the company manufacturers over 60 models from various manufacturing plants inside France, China, Italy, Portugal and Germany. The company represents many different product ranges utilized for a variety of applications. These equipments are sold through a global Manitowoc dealer network.

The family of Potain cranes are divided into different tower crane families. The smallest cranes produced by Potain are the self-erecting cranes. These cranes range from 1 ton to 7.98 ton capacity. The next size up is the top-slewing cranes which are both bigger and higher. These cranes vary from 7.98 to 64 tons. In addition, these are the largest special application cranes that are custom-made. These models provide a reach capacity of one hundred sixty tons.

The company's top innovations consist of LLC series of hoists, the Dialog control system and the Vision Cab. The growing reputation of the company has expanded their appeal with various models. Potain cranes are normally found on traditional construction sites, bridge building projects, power stations, ship-building projects and shipbuilding yards.

Two of Manitowac's biggest facilities are based within the US. Their manufacturing facility is based in Wisconsin. In this state, both crawler cranes and the tower crane parts are made in the state of Pennsylvania inside the Shady Grove plant. Here both mobile cranes and boom trucks are manufactured. Regional offices are located in Brazil and in Mexico. Moreover, the extensive dealer network located all over Iowa and the United States offers support and coverage unrivalled by any other crane manufacturer.

Manitowoc has dominated the lifting market within North America for over 50 years. They have built their solid reputation with a combination of outstanding support and service and quality products. The well-known names of Manitowoc, Grove and national Crane have been top members of their market sectors within Latin and South America, USA and Iowa.
