Change an LPG Cylinder
There are various types of sources which can power forklifts. They could run utilizing gasoline, liquid propane or LP gas, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for various uses. There are some facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled anytime they need. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders which can be changed out when the machine needs to be refueled.
So as to avoid possible serious injury, certain precautions should be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. For example: be sure to wear the appropriate safety equipment such as goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Make sure that you turned off the ignition of the forklift prior to changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is firmly closed. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Bear in mind that it will turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never utilize any kind of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
