A forklift to be a successful unit should be built strong to last the working environments for many hours of use. It needs to be able to transport cargo quickly and effectively as well. The machinery needs to also be both comfortable and ergonomically correct for the operator.
Yale's powertrain is both rugged and reliable. The powertrain requires the power to always provide great strength through its computer-managed transmission and engine. It offers state-of-the-art clutch packs along with strong gears and extremely tough shafts. The drive, steer axle, engine and transmission are all isolated so as to decrease both vibration and noise inside of the operator's compartment.
GM & Mazda Gas & LP Engines:
The GM Gas and Mazda LP Engines are made from cast-iron blocks for long life. These types of machinery provide an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system which requires minimum adjustment or repair. These engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats which lessen wear.
Cummins and Yanmar Diesel Engines:
Both the Yanmar and Cummins diesel engine offer a higher compression ratio leading to improved torque. Remarkable fuel consumption is provided by effective fuel systems.
Regular Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The standard Electronic Powershift Transmission features gears which are 15 percent stronger and shafts that maximize resistance to rough driving. The durable clutch packs provide 3 times the life of previous packs. Last of all, there is available electronic inching that adjusts automatically so as to reduce maintenance needs by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
This transmission system utilizes a computer-controlled power reversal that extends tire life, minimizes shock loading and increases durability. As well, the auto deceleration feature lessens break pedal usage and break wear.
Drive Axle:
Made for extra durability, the drive axle features its brake drum mounting, full floating axle shaft and the strong ring and pinion gears. This specific part also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes that are completely sealed against contamination and basically maintenance free.
Steer Axle:
The Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design to be able to protect the steer cylinder from damage and debris. It has fixed-length tie rods to add more durability and stability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist side-to-side and front to back forces. As well, cast ductile iron axle increases toughness and lessens wear.
Yale had made numerous ergonomic features and safety features part of their regular packages. These machinery would handle tough environments, while keeping the operator comfortable and safe for the duration of their shift.
