Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie is a Motorized Pallet Truck which is basically a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Walkie" models as well as "Rider" versions.
Like what the name implies, the walkie model is designed for the operator to walk alongside with the unit as they move cargo. The Rider model on the other hand, uses a small platform wherein the operator stands on. The rider models are great for frequent transporting of loads over extended distances in manufacturing operations and warehouses. They are really fast and maneuverable.
It is not recommended to pick up and move tall or unstable loads because there are no safety cages on these models. A rider might be the perfect answer if you are searching for an inexpensive method for moving cargo from point A to point B. If though, you must move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the best alternative.
Order Selector
The order selector or order picker is a piece machine designed specially for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the operator and the load with a purpose to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Typically, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle which can function in smaller aisles. They are extremely handy pieces of machinery during physical inventories as well as during cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
