Narrow Aisle Forklift
A narrow aisle forklift is utilized for lifting and lowering loaded pallets from high storage spaces. This particular kind is suitable for work places with narrow spaces between aisles, such as warehouses or retail environments. The forklift has solid rubber, small tires which make maneuvering very easy.
The operator of this kind of forklift normally stands up in a small cockpit. The stand-up design enables the narrow aisle forklift to be as short and narrow as possible. A stand-up cockpit forklift usually has three tires: two in the front, and one in the back. This configuration allows for easy and fast maneuvering. There are some models of these forklifts that come with a sit-down cockpit. The lift attachment is capable of pivoting to the sides, permitting the lift to be operated without the operator having to move the entire machine. The sit-down model usually has four wheels.
Many narrow aisle forklifts are powered with an electric engine. Machines which are electrically powered do not make exhaust fumes and are quiet, making them the preferred option for closed places such as retail spaces. Some lifts come with a diesel engine or a gas engine. However, the diesel version is not suggested for indoor use because it can be noisy and produce exhaust.
