JLG Telehandlers Iowa
John L. Grove chose to stop working after spending numerous years working side by side with his brother to build their crane manufacturing business into a world leader. John as well as his wife Cora celebrated their retirement by setting out on a cross-country trip in their R.V. After that specific journey, JLG Industries, Inc. emerged and became the world's top manufacturer of specialized material handling machines and mobile aerial work platforms.
John spent much of the time during the R.V. journey talking to prior business associates that the Groves were visiting on their journey. Tragically, while they visited the Hoover Dam, 2 workers were accidentally electrocuted on scaffolding. Through subsequent conversations, John saw a big untapped market for a product which can quickly and safely hoist people into the air in order to perform construction and maintenance work.
After John and his wife returned from the trip, John decided to take action. He and two dear friends began a partnership and then purchased a small metal fabrication business within McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. During 1970, with an initial team of 20 employees, the trio built and sold the very first JLG aerial work platform. Many components of the basic design elements of that very first machinery are still being incorporated into the existing equipment
The company has come a really long way since John L. Grove drove back into town from his cross-country trip and have grown significantly ever since they debuted their very first aerial work platform. Even these days, JLG continues to expand into additional worldwide markets. A lot of innovative machinery are made to help clients be more effective and work safer.
JLG has remained devoted to being the leader in the industry. The company takes operator comfort into account very seriously. They try to deliver in overall comfort and safety, as well as in performance so that the driver can be as productive as possible.
